The Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund today announced the appointment of Dr. Sue Anne Costa Clemens and Dr. Yoko Tabe as new members of the organization’s Selection Committee (SC). The SC is responsible for evaluating investment proposals and progress reports from development partners and making investment recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Dr. Clemens, a professor at the University of Oxford and Head of Institute for Global Health at the University of Siena, has contributed to the development of more than 20 globally licensed vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The vaccines she has worked on, including those for Rotavirus, HPV, PCV, and COVID-19, have saved millions of lives worldwide.

Dr. Tabe, a professor at Juntendo University, specializes in clinical laboratory medicine. She is engaged in the development and practical application of next-generation specimen tests utilizing AI and mass spectrometry, as well as biobank management.

Their extensive expertise and deep knowledge are expected to make significant contributions to advancing GHIT Fund’s projects.
